The following three main criteria must be met:

  • Strong Interest in Micro, Small and Medium Size Enterprises
  • Meaningfulness relative to size in its jurisdiction
  • Capacity and willingness to contribute to the Group

Becoming a member — Qualified development banks that are interested in joining The Montreal Group should contact Sandra Péloquin, Secretary General, in order to receive more information.The annual fee is C$30,000 the first year and C$20,000 for subsequent years.

Next Annual
General Meeting

The next Annual General Meeting will take place in Beijing, China, hosted by the China Development Bank (CDB).


The Montreal Group organizes an annual meeting where members discuss the previous year's activities and plan for the coming year. It is also when Leaders of Key Topic groups and their respective teams finalize their discussions throughout the year and present their findings.
The founding meeting was held in September 2012 in Montreal. The 2013 annual meeting was held in Mexico by NAFINSA, the 2014 in Brazil by BNDES, the 2015 in France by Bpifrance, the 2016 in India by SIDBI, the 2017 in Finland by Finnvera, and most recently the 2018 meeting was held in Canada by BDC.
