The Montreal Group's CEO Gathering 2021
On March 30, the CEOs of TMG member banks, TMG Board of Directors and some external guests will get together virtually to exchange ideas on:The role of Development Banks in the 2030 Agenda and in Mobilizing Sustainable Finance for SMEs.
On March 30th, The Montreal Group (TMG) hosted a private gathering by carbon neutral virtual means, with the heads of our member banks, our Board of Directors and some special guests from AWS (Austria), Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development (UAE), British Business Bank and KfW (Germany) to exchange on the role of Development Banks in the Agenda 2030 and in mobilizing Sustainable Finance for SMEs.
It has been priceless to be inspired and guided by renowned worldwide experts such as Bertrand Piccard (Swiss Explorer and Environmentalist) and Usher, E. (Head of UNEP FI).
Eric Usher, Head of UNEP FI, the UN Environment Programme Finance Initiative, a global partnership working to develop the sustainable finance and responsible investment agendas. In the event, he highlighted that sustainable finance is now a synonym of opportunity and that development banks have a key role in this transition.

Dr. Bertrand Piccard, Chairman & Initiator Solar Impulse is an explorer and forward-thinking leader for progress and sustainability that completed two round-the-world flights powered by clean technologies and renewable energy. He invited all the attendees to join the revolution towards decarbonization.

Following this important gathering, the Board of The Montreal Group has agreed to create a new Group of experts around Sustainable Finance. What should be the role of Public SME Banks in the agenda 2030? Looking forward to contributing into finding some answers to this precious question in 2021.
