The Chief Economists of The Montreal Group are in Paris!
Today, we had the pleasure of meeting for an in-person event in Paris with our Chief Economists. We were joined at the offices of Bpifrance by speakers from a variety of public financial institutions dedicated to the growth of SMEs.
This event consisted of two parts. During the first part, Mr. Nadim Ahmad, Deputy Director at the OECD Centre for Entrepreneurship, SMEs, Regions & Cities spoke to us about the latest macroeconomic developments around the world and their impact on SMEs.
This was followed by a roundtable in which all attending Chief Economists gave an overview of their countries’ current economic situation, with a focus on the impact on SMEs. For the second part, participants shared and discussed the different models and tools used by their organizations to measure impact.
We especially thank Ahlam Hayel Ingrand from Crédit Mutuel Arkéa, Jonas Wannefors (Danske Bank) and Sven Renon from Banking for Impact, Andrea Montanino and Giovanni Mandras from Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (Italy), Blanca Navarro from Instituto de Crédito Oficial (Spain), and Matt Adey from British Business Bank (UK) for their presentations on this topic!
