The Montreal Group Welcomes a New Secretary-General
After almost ten years as Secretary-General, Sandra Péloquin recently passed the torch to Karen Kastner, Vice President Strategy and Government Relations at BDC.
In a bittersweet moment, The Montreal Group bid farewell to Sandra during this year's Annual General Meeting. The Board warmly thanked Sandra for all her valuable contributions to the Group and her commendable work ethic. Sandra was appointed as Secretary-General at the Rio de Janeiro Annual Meeting in 2013. She has been instrumental in developing the trust and collaboration between members which is at the core of what we do. We thank her and wish her the best in all her future projects!
We are thrilled to welcome our new Secretary-General, Karen Kastner, who has been working closely with The Montreal Group for the last few years. As one of our founding members, the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) has a strong and long-standing relationship with the Group. We look forward to continuing collaborating with them with Karen at the helm.
Ms. Kastner joined BDC in 2006, where she started as Director of Corporate and Business Planning. She has served as strategic advisor to the President and CEO. She is currently responsible for corporate strategy development, BDC’s relationship with the Government of Canada, and international relations.
She began her career with the federal Department of Justice, where she worked on the implementation of new domestic legislation. She then became involved in international treaty negotiations, providing policy advice and representing Canada at the United Nations, G8, European Commission and Organization of American States.
Welcome Karen!
